The Grangetown-born star has lost voice as he tries to 'get back to what I do best - making people laugh', and performed against medical advice. Comedian Roy "Chubby" Brown was forced to pull out of a gig - just days after "getting back to what I do best" following the tragic death of his son. In a turbulent time for the Teesside funnyman, Chubby hit the road again last week to perform at venues on the south coast. The devastated dad-of-seven cancelled some dates after learning of the death of his son, Martin Reilly , and to attend his funeral, held on Thursday, April 4 at Teesside Crematorium. With a gig on the Isle of Wight approaching, Roy, 74 , posted on Facebook earlier this week: "It's time I got back to doing what I do best, and that is making people laugh. I've read every one of them and it's given me a warm glow in my heart and I thank you deeply for all your support.
